Linda Has Joined the Connector!

A Very Big Welcome to Cousin Linda!

I've been trying forever to get Linda to join...

I've sent her email after email after email...

Guess it helps to have the right email address :)

WELCOME LINDA!

New Page Format...

I have changed the page and text format of The Goodsell Connector. Some of our members had expressed that the previous format was not always easy to view on their Blackberries and similar hand held devices. Apparently the text was particularly difficult to read.

Please let me know if this is better, or still a problem...

Pictures

Hey Jan...I've been trying to figure out your picture situation and the only thing I've come up with is that it has to be in your profile settings. Try going into your Blogger profile and see if you've checked the box to share your profile...

3rd Generation Horse Ride

Now here is a blast from the past. Funny, I remembered it being much longer than it actually is. Irie named him Horsey.

Playing in the sun

I was trying to get her new bubble mower to work, but she wasn't letting me.
She got this sprinkle mat for her birthday last year but I just got it out.
She is showing me the dirt on her face but it is hard to see.

Ceramic Cafe Part 2

Melia's post cannot be complete with out the pictures of the owner of that handprint.

Totally taken in by the painting of the hand.

Showing Mom she know's how to spread her fingers out.

Press and hold firm.

Remnants left behind on the hand. Or would that be Look Nana, still black? What did we do before our cell phones had cameras on them?

Our impromptu trip to Seaside

I only work half a day yesterday because we were going to go camping with Carson's parents but tires were more money then we had. So we decided to go to the beach for the afternoon instead. We got down there and the clouds had rolled in. And because it was like 80 degrees here when we left I didn't even think about taking a jacket for Irie. We went to the outlet mall and bought Irie a thin little jacket at Carters. Then we headed over to the mall area. We went into The Candyman to get some salt water taffy. Next we went to the carousel which Irie loved. Carson went with her the first time around. Next I went with her, and as the ride was ending all she was saying was "Again. Again. Again." And when i went to take her off she had a death grip on the bar. I had to almost peel her off.
We were headed back to the car to get the sand toys. When I said that I would like to play some Skee-ball, and Carson said lets go. And for those of you who have not been to the arcade at Seaside lately, the games no longer run off of quarters. You have to get a special card, (much like a hotel room key or your Safeway club card.) that you load with $ via cash or credit/debit card. It was weird. So I loaded my card with a whole $3.00 and that lasted for 1 game of basketball and 5 games of Skee-ball. But it was still fun.
Irie stole the ball to roll it down the ally (?) (Is that what it is called?) she thought it was funny.
When we finally made it to the sand and let her walk the first thing out of her mouth was "My feet dirty."
She tripped just as we made it to the wet sand.
Loved playing in the water but since it was cold I didn't let her play long. Instead i distracted her with her sand toys. She was "makin sand castles."

We were trying to go to the aquarium so we were trying to get her to hurry. We asked it she needed help and she kept saying "I do I self". So we were trying to get her to look at thing that were closer to the aquarium, like this hole that some one had dug. (the picture doesn't do it justice.)
There were people still digging this hole but they were nice enough to get out of the hole so we could take a picture.
Then there were the swings.

Then we FINALLY made it to the aquarium, 5 minutes before they closed. We fed the sea lions. They have some serious personality. Carson tossed some food to the one on the walkway and one in the water slapped his fin against the water as if to say "what about me. I'm here too." it was cute.
And because they were closed by the time we went in to the rest of the aquarium we had it all to our self. I didn't remember it being THAT small. So it only took like 5 minutes to go through and the staff was nice enough to let us take our time. We finished at the aquarium and headed to Cannon Beach so we could go to Mo's for dinner. It was delicious like always. It was a really fun evening.

Ceramic Cafe

Last Friday my cake girls and I went to the Ceramic Cafe for our (almost) weekly get together. It was something I have wanted to do for a really long time. I was so Excited when it was suggested that we do there. Here is the bowl I painted.

It finally happened in Seattle

After 272 days the temperature in the Seattle area reached 75 or more degrees yesterday (Wednesday.) It was just a few days ago that we reached 70 degrees for the first time in many months.

Alas, today it is supposed to be 70 or below with the possibility of rain returning to the picture. The weather people have started referring to the month of June as "Junuary" it has been so bad. If we get more sun perhaps I will get more freckles on the top of my head.

Irie's First Boat Ride

Carson FINALLY got his friends boat back (after 6 month of being in 2 different repair shops) and he wanted to take it out and see how it ran. And because it is FINALLY nice weather here he thought it would be fun for all of us to go out on the boat with him. And he has been dying to take Irie out and let her see a live fish. So out we went.

She calls this chair "my high chair"

Her First fish... Well technically 2nd but just as the 1st one got to the boat Carson lost it.

And this is when the fish was flopping around on the floor and she was backing away form it.
She kept saying that she was hungry, and I asked her if she wanted to go home or if she wanted to catch another fish. She of course said catch a fish. She is so her fathers daughter.

Where is everyone today?

Usually my email is blowing up with comments and new posts. Today next to nothing. Where is everyone?

The funny things that Irie does

We were driving home from my mom and dads last night and I heard, "Where's Irie?" coming from the back seat. I looked back and this is what I saw. (Thankfully Carson was driving.)

So I said to Carson, "Have you seen Irie, I don't know where she went?" He said " No, I don't know where she went." we heard giggling form the back seat. Then I asked if Minnie (who Irie was holding) knew where Irie was and I said No Minnie doesn't know either. I heard more giggling. Pretty soon I saw this...Then I heard "Where is Minnie? Where did she go?" Carson thought that she had dropped her and was really asking, but I looked back and saw...This went on for a few minutes, then I uncovered Minnie, and every time I took Irie's picture she told me again mommy, again. So here are some of the pictures from our impromptu photo shoot. Please excuse her hair, it had been in for almost 2 days at that point.

Carson's Fathers Day

Carson got up this morning and went fishing... nothing uncommon. And this is the Fathers Day catch, Salmon caught in the Clackamas outside of Estacada.

Happy Father's Day to All of Our Fathers!
