I guess it is about time for me to contribute a bit of what is going on around the Nilson household. I actually took kinda took the day off work today (kinda because I did do some work from home). I am 1st counselor in our Relief Society Presidency and as such my responsibilities include the Tuesday Mid-Week Meeting. Mid-Week meeting, for those of you who don't know, is what our mothers called work meeting, then homemaking, then Home, Family and Personal Enrichment (enrichment for short) and now Mid-Week Meeting. I am convinced they changed the name knowking I was coming into the calling and couldn't imagine me enriching anyone. Mid Week meeting was tonight and since I don't have a committee or leader it pretty much falls on my shoulders (no wonder my back aches). Tonight we had a "Quilting Bee" to try to sort out some fabric and get some our our quilts done for the Deseret Industries. I hit the ground running this morning and have just now tossed things in my sewing room and am calling it a night. I now have 4 quilts to bind (or get someone else to bind), more fabric to sort and planning on next months meeting. It would have been easier to go to work.
A.J. turned the big 24 last week and thought it would be grand if I would give him gas money to go to Utah with. I opted to give him a bottle of his favorite after shave Aqua Digio as his current bottle is nearly dry. I'm not sure he was really happy with that, but better than nothing.
Father's day is just around the corner and I thnk Bruce is getting tickets to The Lion King. It starts a 5 week run this Thursday. For his birthday this year he got tickets to Cirque du Soleil. Guess you can tell what I would like to do. Besides there's nothing to find a place for when the gift comes this way.
As for the yard and garden. We haven't deboarded from the Ark long enough to take a look. It has rained and rained and rained some more. Luckily we finally got gutters on the house. The record rainfall for the month of June was just over 4 inches. That record was broken by about the 8th of June. We did have a beautiful sunny weekend ( a teaser) but are now back to the rain. We planted a small garden a couple of weeks ago, and they have not died due to lack of rain. On the other hand they haven't grown to great heights either.
Well that's life in a nutshell. Tomorrow is back to work. Ron, enjoy that retirement while you can.
So is Bruce getting the hint???
